The Norfolk Tourism Foundation is honored to establish the Yasmine Boukhriss Memorial Scholarship Fund, created in memory of a remarkable young restaurateur whose passion, talent, and spirit left a lasting impact on Norfolk’s culinary community. Yasmine was a natural leader—deeply committed to hospitality and driven by a desire to carry forward the legacy built by her father, Omar, through Omar’s Carriage House. Her life was tragically cut short at just 25, shortly after returning from a family trip abroad. To honor her dreams and the extraordinary promise she embodied, this fund will support the next generation of restaurant and culinary leaders through one or more annual scholarship awards. With the long-term goal of growing the fund to assist students whenever needed, the Norfolk Tourism Foundation is proud to help keep Yasmine’s legacy alive by empowering others to follow the path she loved so dearly.
